A therapeutic tool with a Pixar twist: as fun as a cartoon, but designed with psychologists.
HoomKid is the first playful educational audio storyteller designed to help children recognize, understand, and tame their emotions.
96 audios to soothe, fall asleep more easily, and develop emotional intelligence from an early age.
Created by the LIVLAB laboratory, in collaboration with child psychology experts.
No waves. No screen. 100% recycled plastic.

Who is HoomKid for?

HoomKid supports all children from 3 to 10 years old through all the emotions that mark their day.
It is a simple and caring tool to help them put words to what they feel, to calm down, to fall asleep, or simply to dream.

For children prone to anger, fear, sadness, or frustration.
For those who lack self-confidence or have difficulty concentrating.
For hypersensitive children, ADHD, HPI, or HPE, for whom emotions are often experienced more intensely.
For families who want to establish a soothing evening ritual.
For parents looking for a turnkey tool to address emotions without tension.

HoomKid is used at all times of the day:

after anger to regain calm,
in the morning with a short yoga or breathing session,
during a long car trip,
at bath or snack time,
before sleeping to soothe the mind,
or even with the family, with parents, brothers, and sisters, to share, laugh, and reconnect.

HoomKid is suitable for all children, whether they need to refocus, reassure themselves, or simply escape.
It turns every listening moment into a time of calm, complicity, and inner development.

How does it work

The child chooses their own mode, emotion, and audio thanks to two simple and intuitive dials.

1. I activate the "Calm" or "Awake" mode depending on the time of day.
Calm: to fall asleep, after anger, before bedtime, or during a bath.
Awake: in the morning, before school, during a snack, or a trip.

2. I turn the dials.
On top: I choose the emotion (joy, fear, anger, sadness, serenity, confidence).
On the bottom: I choose the type of audio (story, meditation, yoga, music, philosophical tale).

3. I listen. The journey begins.
No screen, no waves. Just the voice, sounds, and imagination.

The benefits for the child

Reduces anxiety and distress through speaking, breathing, and relaxation.
Promotes self-confidence by learning to recognize one's strengths and verbalize emotions.
Facilitates falling asleep and improves sleep quality.
Enhances concentration and the ability to refocus.
Stimulates curiosity, creativity, and imagination.
Strengthens the parent-child bond through exchanges after each story.
Develops emotional intelligence, essential for balance and academic success.

A French innovation inspired by psychology and play

Developed with Élisabeth Couzon, clinical psychologist and author of the bestseller The Magic of Emotions, HoomKid is based on years of research in child psychology, sophrology, hypnotherapy, meditation, and yoga.
Each story is designed as a captivating sound adventure, told with the quality of a Pixar film — both funny, poetic, and deeply soothing.

With its 96 audios (from 2 to 20 minutes), HoomKid offers a unique format that combines pleasure and emotional regulation:
• 48 stories about emotions
• 24 guided meditations
• 6 philosophical tales
• 6 yoga postures
• 12 ambient music tracks

Each story incorporates scientifically validated relaxation techniques: conscious breathing, body scan, hypnotic suggestion, visualization, and heart coherence, to naturally guide the child towards calm.

What the experts say about it

"An essential tool to support children and tame their emotions by traveling with them through extraordinary stories."
— Élisabeth Couzon, Clinical psychologist, specialist in emotion management.

Created with specialists in child psychology: sophrologists, hypnotherapists, child psychiatrists, and yoga teachers.
A playful, accessible, and joyful therapeutic approach, tested and approved by families as well as professionals.

The story behind the product

Since 2012, LIVLAB has been helping adults sleep better and manage their stress using natural tools like Dodow and HoomBand.
With HoomKid, the founders — three former insomniacs turned dads — wanted to pass on this knowledge to younger people.

The idea: to learn very early to recognize, name, and regulate emotions before they become sources of anxiety in adulthood.
HoomKid was designed as a gateway to emotional well-being, through stories inspired by therapeutic techniques and animated cinema.

An object designed to reconcile science, imagination, and childhood.

" She is the first storyteller who truly talks about emotions. Each HoomKid story contains a key to personal development, subtly slipped into the narrative.
The child never receives a direct "moral lesson": they live an emotional experience through an adventure, a character, an image, or a sound.
It is this approach, both playful and symbolic, that allows them to recognize what they feel without realizing it.

    FAQs

Can I listen to a Calm story while Awake and vice versa?

You can very well have your child listen to a story from the Calm mode to relax during the day. There is no order to follow, the goal being to find an audio suitable for what your child feels and to help them find answers to their questions or ways to manage their emotions.

Can I let my child play alone?

You can let your child experiment with HoomKid alone, this will also allow them to discover their inner self and take responsibility by choosing for themselves what they want to listen to.

Can my child listen to HoomKid with headphones or earphones?

Yes, it is entirely possible to listen to HoomKid with headphones or earphones, thanks to the jack socket located on the side of the device. For young children, it is essential to ensure a volume level appropriate for their age. This is why we developed our own headphones: the HoomKid headphones available on the Livlab.care website. Designed especially for children from 3 years old, it is limited to 80 decibels to protect their hearing, while guaranteeing optimal sound quality. It is foldable, sturdy, adjustable, and fits perfectly on small heads. These headphones are ideal for safe listening, at home or while traveling, and allow the child to fully enjoy HoomKid stories and meditations without any risk to their ears.

    How to choose my story?

When your child has chosen the theme color they want to explore as well as the story or activity, you just need to set the theme color on the first dial and the symbol of the story or activity on the second dial. Then you can press the start button. Let's go!

Can I have an indication of the battery level of my HoomKid?

When HoomKid is powered on, its charge level is indicated by the charging LED to the right of the USB-C port. If it is off, you have at least 2 hours of listening ahead. If it blinks red, it means you have less than 2 hours of listening left (a full recharge of the product provides about 10 hours of playback autonomy).

Why is yoga good for my child?

Yoga is an ideal activity to reduce attention and concentration disorders. It allows the child to listen to their body, find their balance, work on body postures, and develop their flexibility. Over time, they will integrate self-control and relaxation for a better quality of life.

Why is meditation good for my child?

For both adults and children, meditation is an extremely beneficial activity for balance. The child will learn that meditation is not doing nothing, it is focusing on what surrounds them, on the emotions they feel, and trying to understand them to better return to calm. With meditation, children increase their ability to concentrate and their well-being. This involves a regular practice of the activity to integrate into daily life, like a routine.

From what age can my child use HoomKid?

HoomKid is accessible from the age of 3. This is the age at which vocabulary develops with words, thanks to imagination and emotions! It is also the age when children go to school, play, make friends, which leads to discovering new emotions and many questions. We recommend HoomKid up to 10 years old since children evolve. They do not have the same needs and desires at 4 years old or at 8 years old. Understanding also changes depending on age, which allows the child to rediscover a story they heard when younger. That is why we created varied content to support children at different moments of their development. And whatever your child's age, our Calm mode audios are designed to regain calm and relax daily!
